Dr Bowman is an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in skull base / head and neck cancer surgery. He obtained his fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in January 2010, and has been in private and public practice since returning from post fellowship training at the end of 2011.
Dr Bowman has degrees in Dentistry (1994) and Medicine (2001) from the University of Queensland. He treats common conditions of the ear, nose and throat in children and adults. With a young family of his own, Dr Bowman has a genuine interest in caring for children with ENT conditions through his public and private work. He consults publicly at the Mater Children’s and Adult Hospitals as well as the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
In 2010 Dr Bowman travelled overseas to London, England where he worked for 12 months at Guy’s hospital and obtained further experience in both Head and Neck Surgery and Skull Base surgery. Fortunately he was able to spend an additional six months working in Italy performing both lateral and endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery.
He is a member of the Head and Neck Cancer clinic at the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he visits weekly and has regular consulting outpatient sessions. During this time he teaches both medical students and surgical trainees and was recently nominated for a teaching award by students from the University of QLD. He also is a member of the Queensland Skull Base Unit that performs complex surgery of the skull base often in association with his neurosurgical colleagues.
Dr Bowman is in private practice at South Brisbane and also consults at the Bayside ENT Neurosensory rooms at Cleveland.
